Film on Island Fishing in Goa – Episode 01 (Down the Coast Series)

In this series called “Down the coast”, we begin from Goa and then cover some unique fishing unique locations down the Konkan coast of Goa and Maharashtra – bays, estuaries, offshore reefs and islands and much more.
We had fun fishing among the beautiful remote islands of Goa (Grand island & Bat Island). The islands are located just off Vasco, Goa. Surrounded by coral reefs, the islands are a refuge for many species of fish. South of Grand Island is an ancient underwater wreck now used as a dive site.
Found some fantastic reefs & fishing spots for jigging, popping and spinning. Fish caught here range from Grouper, Trevally (GTs), Red snapper, Queenfish and barracuda.
Keep tuned-in (by subscribing to this site) for the upcoming episodes. In the meantime, enjoy the first episode of the series below.

We fish responsibly and practise catch & release.

  1. why do you catch small Trevally when the Big Ones are available? Do not but cast but just drop your lure at the side of the boat and let it down to sink to the seabed, and then retrieve at speed with slight jerks! And the Big One grabs it??!!!

    1. Hi Glenn, there weren’t any big ones around and most of the small ones were thrown back in. But thanks for tip, will keep it mind.
